UNVEILED Britten | Tippett | Gipps | Browne | Thomas

A new album of music composed by queer composers and/or poets, also a premiere recording of a cycle by Ruth Gipps.

UNVEILED explores themes of hidden love, shame, pride, youth and death. It is produced by Delphian Records and features acclaimed pianist and broadcaster Iain Burnside and the much in demand guitarist, Craig Ogden.

ABOUT ELGAN

Tenor Elgan Llyr Thomas hails from Llandudno, North Wales. He performs a wide variety of repertoire within the operatic canon as well as enjoying a busy career on the concert platform. Recent engagements include a European Tour with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra as Tom Rakewell The Rake’s Progress conducted by Barbara Hannigan, Prunier La Rondine for Opera North, Duke of Mantua Rigoletto for Opera Holland Park and appearing as tenor soloist in Tippett’s A Child of our Time with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Martyn Brabbins.

Future engagements include his debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra as tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at Tanglewood conducted by Hannu Lintu, Count Almaviva Il Barbiere di Siviglia for Opera Holland Park, Don José La Tragedie de Carmen for Buxton International Festival and Gérald Lakmé for the Chelsea Opera Group.
